Meet OZOG
Who Is Ozog Consulting Group?
Ozog Consulting Group is a team dedicated to providing our buyers and sellers with exceptional, personalized service as they work to grow or improve their portfolios of automotive real estate assets. Founded in 2000 by Joe Ozog, the company has worked to build a solid reputation in the industry and transacted over $5 billion in deals. Together, the team has more than 100 years of industry-specific experience that they use to directly support clients' needs.
We have long standing relationships with automotive-specific attorneys that help streamline the process with thousands of transactions. That creates a better result with minimal frustration for all parties. Joe and Emily Ozog are also CPAs, which helps the firm stand out from the competition.
What Makes Ozog Consulting Group So Different?
Our company prides itself in providing exceptional customer service for each of our clients. We do that through having experience in more complicated areas of the industry, including in acquisitions from manufacturers and publicly held retailers.
This service is unique to us, as no other firm has worked directly for manufacturers in the capacity we do. We also have non-public retail and public retail (Group 1 Automotive and Lithia Motors) that enhance our experience.
Look further, and you will see a company that not only has completed hundreds of transactions but one that provides reliable, personalized service. We provide a no-nonsense, straight-to-the-point level of transparency in every transaction.
We only ever work one side of the transaction too, which improves our ability to meet client needs. This, along with our proprietary valuation services, ensures accuracy and more deals closing.
Meet the People Behind the Ozog Team
As a Detroit native, the car industry is in Joe's blood. A CPA by trade, Joe left public accounting and followed his family's legacy as a 3rd generation Ford Motor Company employee. In 1997, he joined the corporate development team of Group 1 Automotive, Inc. where he learned the "ins and outs" of buying and selling car dealerships from masters of the trade.
In 2002, Joe founded the firm and has been transacting deals since. His unique combination of public accounting, manufacturing, and M&A experience gives him an in-depth understanding of the numbers. With over 20 years of helping dealers buy and sell dealerships, there is little he hasn't witnessed. You will find no better ally on either the buy side or the sell side (never both).
Joe and his wife of over 25 years live in the Phoenix area with their four young children. Joe is an avid cyclist and outdoor enthusiast.
Prior to joining Ozog Auto nine years ago, Brian enjoyed eighteen years with Ford Motor Company in regional and national leadership roles throughout the country. He then assumed the position of Vice-President for Lithia Motors' Mergers, Acquisitions and Manufacturer Relations for over eight years. These assignments fostered unique long-term retailer relationships, market knowledge, and network experience which has been invaluable.
He has been married for over thirty years and enjoys his children and grandchildren who also reside in the Pacific Northwest.
After completing a 40+ year career with GMAC and Ally Financial, John joined Ozog Consulting Group in March of 2014. While at GMAC and Ally, he worked in management and executive capacities interfacing with dealerships throughout the country. He was a founding member of the leadership team that established the consumer and commercial automotive lending functions at Ally Bank.
John and his wife are the parents of three adult daughters and have five grandchildren. John enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and downhill skiing. He and his wife reside in North Dakota.
Besides being married to Joe for over 25 years (success in and of itself), Emily has over 25 years of experience in the financial analysis and corporate accounting field. She received an accounting degree in 1993 from the Franciscan University of Steubenville and attained CPA accreditation from Texas shortly after. This helped to launch a successful 13-year career within various corporate finance and accounting departments. In 2006, Emily left corporate America to help Joe in his growing business and also to begin a new career as a mother.
Emily loves hiking, skiing, and mountain biking, and is devoted to raising her 4 children and keeping Joe in line.
